The last four years have been huge growth years for Elevation. In fact, we have been one of the fastest growing gay events in the country since our first year. At a time when the many of the large gay party weekends have declined drastically in numbers, attendance at Elevation has increased by 60 to 100% each year.

Why? Probably because Elevation offers an alternative to the gay party scene. Yes, we have huge dance parties with the biggest DJs on the circuit. but this weekend is about more than just those parties. We hold Elevation in one of the most beautiful settings in the country. When you come to Elevation, you experience some of the best spring skiing in the world, at a resort where the unbelievably long season lasts well into spring and even summer, with one of the highest average snowfalls in the country.

"Not only are the lifts still running in July, but the area's lofty elevation (11,053 feet) ensures winter quality snow into late spring." SKI Magazine (The mountain had a base of more than 16 feet during Elevation 2005, and had 306 inches of snowfall from January to March. During Elevation 2006, snow dumped on us for four days straight.) Yes, people travel from all over the country and even internationally, to attend Elevation. But you get a friendly, casual core group of West Coast guys that create a welcoming, non-pretentious atmosphere that Aspen and Vail would never know what to do with. I guarantee you'll leave this event with new friends, or your money back. (Can't wait for the emails from that comment.)

When you come to Elevation, you also get more options than just big dance parties. Our signature apres-ski events are more social, "bar-oriented" events, where you can meet (and buy drinks for) friendly guys from all over the country. Fresh off the slopes, margarita in hand, flushed and tan from a sunny day of amazing snowboarding - those are some of our favorite moments.

This year, Elevation will bring between 1500 and 2000 riders to the Sierras. All of those riders will be coming for 5 days of après-ski events, night-time events and the best spring skiing and snowboarding in North America.

A (very brief) serious moment. We created Elevation to bring people together in a spirit of celebration and diversity and fun. Elevation is also about sharing that celebration with Mammoth. Each year, the town has welcomed us wholeheartedly. The mayor and city council writes us a welcome letter each year. Merchants can't wait to put out their signs of support in their shop windows. Locals talk about how we have the best parties of the year, and how much they look forward to them. We've even heard cops at a local coffeehouse talking about how we have more people and fewer problems at our events than they've ever seen.

Despite our growth, our core mission is the same. "1500 riders. 7 major parties. 0 attitude."

Some highlights of Elevation 2007 will be CLIFFHANGER, the biggest party we've ever thrown, with world-renowned DJ BRETT HENRICHSEN returning for his third Elevation. Brett has spun every major party in the world, including the main event at Sydney Mardi Gras, Gay Days Orlando, White Party Miami & Palm Springs, and every other giant event you can name.

Another highlight will be THE PARTY AT 10,000 FEET. Take a night-time ride in the gondola up the dark mountainside to our second annual mountain-top tea dance. The entire mountain will be ours. Yes, it's pitch black for about 8 minutes going up the mountain, so if you're scared of the dark... bring someone to cuddle with. DJ ROLAND BELMARES is joining us for his first Elevation, and we can't wait.

And of course, our signature apres-ski events, with LA favorite DJ JOSH PEACE. Beers, boys, boarders and babes will all converge on the best apres-ski bars in the Village.

Though the majority of Elevation attendees are guys, there are always a great contingent of girls at our events. This is an inclusive event where we want everyone there.

Returning to the Elevation team is this year's presenting sponsor ClearChannel Los Angeles. Again, they are taking us to the next level in terms of production value and media outreach, including a live radio remote from Mammoth during the weekend. Instinct Magazine is our returning media sponsor, while other sponsors like Powerzone and Orbitz return again.

This is a weekend about serious fun, new and old friends, and a community coming together. So, in the spirit of Elevation, a tip for the weekend: Be friendly. Introduce yourself. This is the kind of weekend where everyone loses the attitude. No judgement, no pretension, no waiting around to see if he talks to you first. The guy you meet one night will be the friend you rip down Cornice with the next day.

And most importantly, have fun. That’s the reason we do this.

Elevation 2007 will be centered in the Village at Mammoth, with many of our activities taking place here and of course, on the mountain.

Event tickets will be on sale soon in the tickets section. Get them soon to make sure that you will be a part of the biggest gay week that Mammoth has ever seen. Last year, we sold out of weekend passes long before the event, and we had to turn people away from a couple of the most popular events. So make sure you get your tickets early.

Elevation has host properties with rooms blocked off for Elevation. Go to our lodging section and make sure that you mention the Elevation Group when you make reservations. Benefits will include the Elevation gift bag, and more. If you don't use the Elevation name to book your room, you will miss out on gift bags and announcements.
