The Major EVENTS
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17th WELCOME EVENT with DJ JOSH PEACE Welcome to Mammoth! This is our informal welcome to Elevation at the new Hyde Lounge. Drive into town and get your ass over here. Just show up and meet some of the hard-core skiers and boarders in the group before our first day on the hill.
THURSDAY, MARCH 18th SANCTUARY APRES-SKI with DJ PORNSTAR Our first warm up apres-ski. Dibs on the cute guy in the Burton pants. The infamous SMACK Thursday night at O-Bar in Los Angeles goes North. This will be our first big event, with the boys and girls getting together for cocktails, music and carousing. Last year's event brought more than 600 boys out.
FRIDAY, MARCH 19th SKI & RIDE HOOK-UP Skiers, Studs, One Night Stands & Ski Bunnies. Apres-ski events are the snowboarder equivalent of a very HAPPY HOUR. For many boarders (and wank-plankers), this is their favorite part of a gay ski week. It's a traditional apres-ski (which just means "after you get off your board" in some foreign language) with a bit more alcohol, much better music, and way hotter guys. Take a night-time ride in the gondola up the dark mountainside to our second annual mountain-top tea dance. Last year, this party was one of the highlights of the week, and will be a tradition every year. The entire mountain belongs to us. Yes, there is only the light of the moon for about eight minutes while going up the mountain, so if you're afraid of the dark... bring someone to cuddle with. (Cause I'm not going to find him for you, no matter how many times you ask.)
SATURDAY, MARCH 20th SKI & RIDE HOOK-UP 9:30am @ Canyon Lodge Let us be your mountain guides! Meet up with the guys from Elevation and SAGA Gay Ski & Snowboard Club for a morning of skiing/boarding. Intermediate and Advanced skill levels, no charge. Look for our signs at Canyon Lodge. We will be there at 9:30am on Friday, March 19th, and Saturday, March 20th. For more information visit sagala.org. "FREEZE" APRES-SKI with DJ PORNSTAR 3-7pm @ Smokeyard Boys, Boarders & A Beach Party. Malibu Rum is bringing you special cocktails for one of our most popular events. The Saturday après-ski is one of our biggest events, and a signature event during a ski weekend. Straight (or not) off the mountain, and into the bar. No changing, no showering. (Bossy, aren't we?) This is one of our biggest events, so the place will be packed, and we will hit capacity, so make sure that you buy your tickets ahead of time. If you were there last year, you know the meaning of "at capacity." We've gotten too big for our britches! That's right boys, we've outgrown all of the apres-ski venues in the Village so we are adding a second event! When LuLu fills up (and we know it will!) head on over to Lakanuki for our other, later apres-ski. Make sure you don't stay and party too long...Cliffhanger starts at 9pm. Last year, we turned a corner with our main event. We filled two trucks with sound and lighting and hauled it up to Mammoth for the biggest dance event they had ever seen. This is the party that you can't miss. Because we are a larger event than any single venue in town, we will sell out of weekend passes, and some events will be accessible only with the weekend pass. To ensure that Elevation is open to everyone, we keep prices far more reasonable than comparable gay circuit events or even the other large gay ski events. For the price of one party during White Party weekend or at Whistler, you can attend all of our events. So please, buy your tickets ahead of time.
SUNDAY, MARCH 21st SUNDAY APRES-SKI The Sunday après-ski will be our final event, and after tears and many margaritas, Elevation 2009 will be memories and a suntan, except for the last day of skiing on Monday. Mammoth midweek skiing is legendary - no lift lines and the whole mountain to explore. HYDE LOUNGE Come have dinner and drinks at Hyde if you are staying the night tonight. This is a no cover event, put together by Elevation’s newest friends in the Village.
The Minor EVENTS. Along with those major events, we will also converge on selected mountain locations every day to meet for lunch. We'll make restaurant recommendations each night for dinner, but reservations are up to you. These are not official events, just suggestions, and a complete list of our favorite restaurants will be available in our Elevation Guide. In the ticket section, there is an Elevation weekend pass, which will get you into all of the events. Go to the Ticket section to purchase advance tickets before some events sell out. |
